Strike Force Fundraising Update! Number 1!

Hiya!

Today I would like to take a moment to appreciate the people who have helped fundraise/donate to the fund. If you don't know already, I play powerchair football for Aspire PFC. I play Regional, National and soon European football for Aspire. In October I will be playing in the Champions League in Denmark which is an incredible honour, however I need a new powerchair called the Strike Force so I can take part on a level playing field. I love powerchair football, its my life, so this chair is desperately needed not just for Europe but also for the upcoming season.

The chair costs a whopping £6,500, however with UK referendum on Europe, the pound to the dollar has dropped from £1 - $1.50  to £1 - $1.36 (this means the pound is becoming weaker) which changes the price to about £7,200. This means more fundraising will have to be done.

The Strike Force Power Soccer Wheelchair.

Over the past month, many fundraising activities have been planned and completed. I made a GoFundMe page which has generated £2,125- donations from complete strangers, which is amazing! My Grandmother lives on an OAP court and she decided to have many fundraising activities such as sports day, raffles and bingo. This raised a total of £1241.50! Therefore I have £3366.50. We currently have a money collection point at The Green Dragon Pub in Wymondham and are waiting to hear how much they have raised.

We have planned a night of mediumship, which is where you'll receive messages from the dead. On Friday 8th April, 7-11PM at Spixworth Village Hall. Tickets are £10 per person. If you'd like to buy a ticket please message me on Twitter, Facebook or Snapchat.

If anyone could help I would be most grateful! To pull on an England shirt with the 3 lions on my chest is my dream! Thank you to everyone who has donated/fundraised already I'm extremely grateful!

Love ya! Xxx

How do I stay positive?

Hiya!

How are you all today? I thought that I would like to share how I keep a positive mind. I live with a life limiting illness called Primary Lymphodema, Brittle Bones Disease and much more which causes me excruciating pain. I try to keep positive as much as possible because I don't want to waste time worrying about small silly things or being down. Everyone does have their down day, even I do! But, when people meet me, they comment about my positivity and ask me 'how do you keep so positive', so here are my tips to keeping positive!

1.) Friends

Friends are such a good support system, they listen and try to help you. I find, surrounding myself with positive people who I like, distracts me from my condition. If you surround yourself with negative people, you'll find that you have a lot of negative thoughts or are very unhappy. So, happy people = happy YOU!

2.) Laugh and smile!

I try to smile everyday! Smiling automatically shows a happy personality. Even if you're feeling down, smiling can help you feel better. I watch comedy movies, documentaries and programs to help be happy. Laughing brings joy to the soul.

3.) Music

Music brings people together and takes people on a roller-coaster of emotions. I listen every morning to a playlist of feel good songs, this sets my mood for the rest of the day. I listen to these songs while doing my hair, make-up, getting dressed etc.

4.) CHOCOLATE!

Chocolate of course! Chocolate makes me feel happy because I love chocolate and chocolate loves me! Heheheheh!!

I hope this helps you all, wanting to become a happier person.

Love ya! Xxx

Making My TV Debut!

Hiya!

Today I want to talk about my TV debut last Monday. So on Monday 15th February 2016, I was a panellist on the Victoria Derbyshire Show LIVE with Chairman of the FA Greg Dyke, BBC Sport correspondent Richard Conway (@Richard_conway), Damian Collins who is an MP (@damiancollins), Chief writer and editor of the sports Telegraph (@_paulhayward) and the legend David Ginola (@teamginola). I was representing powerchair football in the FIFA corruption debate, however I didn't get to talk about powerchair football due to limited time. We basically spoke about how we think FIFA could reallocate their funding and who could be next as president. As we all know I would be an amazing president for FIFA however, I decided not to run for presidency. Here's how my day went.

7:30 AM -

I left the hotel in Hackney with a belly full of Bourbon Biscuits. My dad drove me to the BBC studios which is very near to Oxford Street. It was surprisingly calm in London centre which was insane! I'd never seen it so clear in my life.

8:10 AM -

Arrived at the BBC studios and waited for my bodyguard to take me to the green room. He wasn't as attractive as I thought bodyguards would looks.

8:30 AM-

The 'bodyguard' turned up and took me to hair and make-up where I was tangoed. I was tangoed because the studio lights are so strong that if I wasn't I would've looked like Casper The Ghost.

8:45 AM-

I met Victoria and the other panellists... and then David Ginola walked in. He's the nicest man on earth!

8:50 AM-

We were briefed (basically told not to swear and smile) and rushed onto set with microphones placed and drinking water out of mugs. Well classy!

9:00 AM-

The show went live!

10:30 AM-

Show ended, I went shopping on Oxford Street and met up with my mate Charlie.

If you would like to watch the show here's the link!

I have kept in contact with Mr Ginola, in fact he really supports grassroots football, from disability to U19's up the park. Here's a picture of me and David to leave you on.

What's my favourite songs...?

Hiya!

Good morning, afternoon or evening! Today, I felt it was right to share some of the music I listen to. I listen to quietly a lot of current chart songs and some old chart songs. These are songs that I have prepared for my long car journeys to London, Nottingham etc. Having grown up listening to a variety of music from my families interests I'd like to say I have quite a flavorous taste in music. At the end of this post there is a link to the songs listed.

Happy listening!

1.) 7 Years Old - Lukas Graham

This song is sooo current right now! The song reflects and predicts about his life with a gradual increase of age, however the key age in this song is '7 Years Old'. Lukas Graham is a Danish pop band who started uploading songs to YouTube where their friends shared on Facebook these videos and eventually a record label (Copenhagen Record). They're now under Warner Bros Records and are predicted to do very well this year. My favourite lyric is "It was a big big world, but we thought we were bigger". It's ironic because when you're 7 years old you feel so free and bigger than what you actually are but in reality you really aren't.

2.) Irresistible - Fall Out Boy

I know the lyrics by heart to this song and sing it to myself when I'm bored. It's a catchy song that sticks in your head for days! 'Irresistible' is about a break up one of the band members experienced, and you know what they say, where there's heart break there's a hit... it's not just a Taylor Swift thing! Fall Out Boy was formed by friends Pete Wentz and Joe Trohman in the Chicago suburbs, from there, band members have came and gone. They're now about to start touring the USA over spring and summer and they do sound incredible live- you should watch their set from Radio 1's Big Weekend in Norwich.

3.) Kiss You - One Direction

Even though 1D are on a hiatus I still love their music, especially the cheesy songs. One Direction released 'Kiss You' in late 2012 two years after making it big on the British show 'X Factor' with Simon Cowell as their mentor. After the show Simon Cowell offered the band a record contract and since then the boys have stolen the hearts of many teenage girls. The band were a 5 piece but after a band mates reconsideration of fame he decided to go solo and the band continued as a 4 piece. One Direction are currently on a well deserved break and people hope they'll return in 2017.

4.) Chandelier - Sia

Have you heard of the crazy singer who wears wigs that cover most of her face? That would be Sia. Sia is a Australian singer songwriter who emerged as a singer in 2011, featuring on David Guetta's Titanium. However, she did reveal she was just a songwriter many years ago but fell heavily into drugs. Her song Chandelier expresses her feelings of a care free life, living for today forgetting about tomorrow. My favourite lyric is 'I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist'. This is a example of her care free feelings and makes me think that tomorrow may never exist so I might as well live for today. Sia recently did a carpool karaoke with James Corden - check it out!

5.) Part Of Me - Katy Perry

Katy Perry is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She wrote this hit in anger of ex hubby Russell Brand. The song describes the period she left Brand to become herself again. The music video shows her storming into an office, ripping her wedding ring off and throwing it at the ex lover. Furthermore, she then changes her appearance to become herself again and joins the army for a fresh start. The video shows a strong influence of America, feeling very patriotic. With a good beat it's very catchy!

6.) Uptown Funk -  Mark Ronson

If you don't know this song I'd like to know where have you been? Uptown Funk is so recognisable, people love it! Written by Mark and vocals from Bruno Mars, the public fell in love with it. The song was released in 2014 but wasn't a hit until January 2015. The now 3 time platinum single is the best song to start a party. The music video features essence of 'funk' and 'soul' with funky choreography and outfits. The song makes me instantly happy as it has a good feeling vibe to it.

7.) Isn't She Lovely - Stevie Wonder

The amazingly talented, Stevie Wonder is a blind pianist and singer, from Michigan. Stevie wrote this hit about his first born daughter Aisha Morris. Aisha inspired his musical career to grow and blossom. After going to the Hard Rock Café in Florence, Italy they had lots of his merchandise (outfits, instruments, records) which made me appreciate his music even more. My other favourite song by Stevie is very well known, 'Superstition'. The instruments and vocals create a uplifting atmosphere which makes me want to party! His daughter Aisha is also a singer and wants to follow in his fathers foot steps.

8.) Tiny Dancer - Elton John

I remember this song being covered by many bands in movies but I love the original. I've also heard this song in adverts on TV and when I was younger on the radio, but recently found a love for his music. Elton John's music has been featured in movies like 'The Lion King' and covered by many other artists like 'Ellie Goulding'. Elton John has also performed many concerts including Queen Elizabeth II 's jubilee celebrations and the 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony.

9.)  When We Were Young-Adele

Adele's new song 'when we were young' expresses her thoughts about being young and how she remembers them. This song is from her new album '25' which is sensational, its a must buy. Her albums are numbered after her age and recently she did a carpool karaoke with James Corden. James asked if she will name all her albums after her age, she replied with "No, because I believe in trilogy's so this will be the last album named after my age". It's a fantastic album, great to listen to when doing chores or when you have some down time.

10.) Imagine - John Lennon

This song always hits me hard, puts life into perspective and make me think more carefully about my choices. John wrote this song about all the problems in the world and tried to create a visual effect of 'perfect' and 'normality'. Sadly he was shot dead 4 times by Mark David Chapman. I remember this song being played at the Olympics opening ceremony with projections of John around the arena, it was an emotional fitting tribute to the singer. My favourite lyric from the song is "I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one". This is because the John wanted people to come together to create peace and become one.

AND that's all my favourite songs! I hope you liked this blog post, let me know if you would like to see something like this more often. Below are all the links to the songs.
